Welcome to my 6th blog post.....

Due to Covid19 Pandemic and lockdown, going out was not at all possible. Are you guys also bored staying home and craving for scrumptious food?

After a long break of about six months, last weekend we had planned to go out for a dinner to KANDEEL at Margao. This restuarant is situated in the heart of Margao city. Restaurant is really the best which offers good services to the people. We ordered chicken manchow soup, chicken crispy and schezwan chicken lollipop as starters along with fresh lime soda. Butter chicken, naan and chicken biryani was ordered as our main course. Taste of the food was really delightful. Quality and quantity of the food served was up to the mark. Kandeel serves delish food at reasonable rate. The interior of the restaurant is also very good. I had quality time spent with my best people, enjoyed scrumptious food in the awesome ambiance.

Yesterday along with one of my friends, I had visited the restaurant 'MAMMA'S CORNER', Panjim for lunch. 

We had ordered fried rice, chicken 65 and fresh lime soda as a beverage. Taste of the food was really delightful. Service of the staff was also good. The restaurant offers Indian, Goan as well as Chinese cuisine. The best part of the restaurant is the beautiful pictures displayed on the walls which beautifies the interior. Pictures are related to Goan culture like village vegetable market, baker baking breads and many more. The restaurant was not that crowded because it was in late afternoon, hence peaceful ambiance. If you all are in and around Panjim, do visit MAMMA'S CORNER.

BAWARCHI BIRYANI, Porvorim

I have a group of friends who are biryani lovers. So prior to a week we had decided to visit a restaurant 'BAWARCHI BIRYANI', Porvorim.

And finally the day arrived. Today we had visited this restaurant. The speciality of this restaurant is-it offers various types of biryanies. We had ordered tikki biryani, Hyderabadi Dum biryani and Signature biryani which is very special and famous one of that restaurant. Along with these biryanies we had also ordered chicken lollipop which were served with schezwan sauce which were really crispy and yummy. Taste of those special biryanies was really awesome. Price was also reasonable. Each biryani costs around RS 140/- each. Interior was good but place was too small and conjusted. Service was slow. Some were served too fast while some had to wait for long time. Waiters were slow in doing their work and were not that dedicated. All of us had ordered different types of biryanies so we could taste all types. Biryanies were really scrumptious. Special mention of 'Signature Biryani' which was too yummy. If you all are in and around Porvorim, do visit BAWARCHI BIRYANI and try these special biryanies.

HOTEL SANSKRUTHI, Porvorim

As I am a non-veg lover, once it was a situation wherein I was forced to have veg food in the restaurant. It was in the afternoon and me along my family we were hungry and wanted to fill our tummies. So we visited HOTEL SANSKRUTHI, at Porvorim and ordered veg thali. Thali contained plain rice, dal tadka, chana bhaji, puri, vegetable, sweet dish(Sheera), pickle, papad, curd and Sol kadhi. We had also ordered for paneer masala separately which was not included in the thali. Taste was good but not great. Price was reasonable. Only veg food is available in this hotel and we'll know for it's south Indian cuisine. Hotel seems to be old looking with not that descent interior. The attraction of this hotel is paan shop which is situated at the entrance of the hotel so that you can enjoy sweet paan after your meals. My experience was not that good as I am not fond of eating veg food.

FOOD POINT, Porvorim

Today we friends had the best weekend spent by having lunch at 'FOOD POINT', Porvorim. We had specially visited this restaurant because it is well known for it's best quality of Goan fish curry rice. Plate consisted of plain rice, prawns curry, fried fish (lemon fish - locally called as Modso), squids masala, vegetable (Valaanchi sukhi bhaji), pickle, salad and Sol kadhi. These dishes are considered to be major components of Goan Cuisine. Taste was better with affordable price. This restaurant offers two types of fish thalis, normal fish thali which costs RS 100/- and special fish thali which costs RS 150/-. In special one, you can choose the type of fish as per likings and in normal one you don't have the option. Service was little slow. We had to wait for a long time for our order to come. Interior of the restaurant was not that descent. It was a bit crowded as it was in the afternoon during everyone's lunch time. Must visit to try Goan fish thali.

During Christmas vacation we had planned a family outing to go for a dinner. After discussing about which restaurant to visit, we finalised to go to 'SUNIN' at Ponda. We had contracting ideas to decide which food to order. Atlast we placed the order as per our likings. We ordered french fries and chicken 65 as starters and chicken biryani, butter chicken and naan as main our main course along with refreshing limbu soda. Meanwhile I observed the interior view of the restaurant which was beautiful and attractive. The rates of food was also affordable. It was not very much crowded hence a peaceful environment. Quality of the food was up to the mark along the services rendered to us. We had quality time spent at the restaurant. It's a must visit for scrumptious food, paired up with peaceful ambiance.
